Farm Framed Art
Farms are usually associated with feelings of going home and living a simple life with a family. This is why many framed farm art pieces feature families and homes as a motif. The many pieces featuring farms are usually very homey and laid-back.
One of these framed farm artworks, Dinner for Threshers, 1934 by Grant Wood, depict a serene picture of a cross-section of the dining area of a farmhouse with a lot of people eating together. The color motif of the piece adds to the tranquility and peacefulness of the scene. The Christmas-themed Bringing Home the Tree by Jack Sorenson is yet another piece that portrays the family-oriented aspect of farmhouses. In the piece, a man is shown bringing home a Christmas tree while two kids run excitedly toward him. The liveliness and the Christmas spirit of the scene are further heightened when one observes that beside the snow-covered well-lit farmhouse lies a snowman.
In the framed farm art painting Farm House on Hill by Warren Kimble, the combination of relaxing colors effectively show the hominess of the depicted farmhouse. Using faded greens, whites, and blues, Kimble creates a piece that can make someone nostalgic of a place they might have never even been too.
Michael Humphries’s attention to detail in his piece Sunday’s Best is top-notch. Painting a scene of a house in a cloudy morning, Humphries successfully evokes a feeling of wanting to go home and rest. The color combination Humphries uses is very noteworthy. The way he paints the details of the farmhouse and the surroundings so specifically and accurately can make enthusiasts think if the piece is a depiction of Humphries’s childhood home.
