Framed Planet Posters
A planet is a space object that has its own gravity and a certain mass that is not too big to cause a thermonuclear fusion process. The meaning of the word Planet is “wandering star”. There are two types of planets: terrestrial, made of rocks, and gas giants, made mostly of different gasses. They are also very different in size, with Mercury as a smallest, and Jupiter as a largest planet. Their temperatures also vary significantly, so they can be extremely hot, or extremely cold.
In our solar system, there are eight official planets, and they are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Some of the space objects that were considered planets before, lost their planetary status in 2006 and only these eight remained.
Planets were named in honor of Roman gods. Even the names of the days of the week were influenced by the names of the planets. Every planet is specific by something and has its own story to tell. Saturn for example, has extraordinary set of rings in its orbit, and that makes it very distinct from other planets. On Mercury, as it is closest to the sun, a year lasts 88 Earth days. Mars has the highest mountains in the Solar System and the highest one reaches up to 21 kilometers in height. Jupiter is so big, that its size is two and a half times bigger than all the planets of our Solar System combined.
If you love to see different space bodies in different colors and positions, getting a framed planet art is a right choice of decoration for home of any person that likes the sight of various planets in outer space.
