William Tombleson (Born 1795) was a renowned architect and a copper and steel engraver. He was also a topographical artist, illustrator, printmaker and writer. Based in London, England, he produced quite a number of pieces of art in a variety of finishing options, including framed William Tombleson art, and his art is currently found in many collections, galleries, homes and institutions around the world. Around 1830, his topographical drawings of the rivers Medway and Thames in England and of the upper middle River Rhine in Germany. He worked for many years with designers, architects, corporations and individuals creating art for specific environments. Tombleson exhibited in international art shows. His art are sold at high prices because of their attractiveness. Most of them were published as books and engraved prints. He provided 69 illustrations for volume 1 of "Views of the Rhine etc." - the book was also published in German and French editions. His keenness to detail was of great value to commercial clients who required much detail in the art that they purchased. Engravers who worked on his drawings included John Cleghorn, T. Cox, J. Howe, W. Hood, O. Smith, Thomas Clark, R. Harris, W. Lacey, J. Stokes, Shenfield, W. Tombleson, D. Thompson, R. Wilson, W. Watts, H. Winkles among others.
