Marc Todd is a UK-based contemporary landscape painter, graphic artist and a frequent international traveler. Our gallery includes a delightful selection of Todd’s European cityscape paintings, as well as from New York City. Bridges are a favorite muse and include many renderings of the Brooklyn Bridge. His rural landscapes are infused with softly glowing imagery and lean towards the cool end of the palette. “I have always thought of landscape as a 'living thing.' Landscape is not only about a sense of place, but also about memory and association,” Todd explains. “Grass blows in the wind; cities are full of moving objects, trees change color as light moves across them. Landscapes are dynamic and constantly changing. Capturing this is movement and impermanence is my primary motivation.” Formerly a creative director in London, Todd’s painted landscapes as a full-time endeavor since 2014.
