Santiago Art

Santiago (Born in 1993) was born and raised in California. True to his childhood vow to become an artist, he entered college to study Art History and Life Drawing, before he transferred and majored in Storyboard Art and Illustration. During his courses he cultivated master techniques in ancient methods of laying in gold leaf and egg tempera painting before he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art degree in 1998. Santiago explains that originality is what separates great artists from the rest. He goes ahead to say that staying original and seeking originality is what compels him. This drive toward excellence and individuality began at an early age for Santiago. He remembers that one time he opened an encyclopedia to read about art history and in the process discovered that he was captivated by the master works of Michelangelo and the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci. He knew then and there that he was meant to be an artist and wanted to spend his entire life as an artist. Santiago got attracted to the works of artists Lucian Freud and Jean-Leon Gerome during his extensive classical training. The two artists, in his opinion, are among the greatest painters in history. Santiago has produced several pieces of artwork which are available in a variety of finishing options including framed Santiago art which are very popular with many collectors. When he’s not is search of captivating visuals and original ides, Santiago enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and draws his strength and inspiration from their presence.
