Framed Cherry Prints
‘Pretty please with a cherry on top’, an expression we all heard and all probably said ourselves at some point. There is the ‘icing on the cake’ that is great in itself but then there is the ‘cherry on the top’ that is the best. And whether it’s on a cake, in a pie, or in our cocktails, the same goes for framed cherry artwork, it is the ‘cherry on top’ so to speak.
If you want the real deal, you should look at framed cherry photography art. Martina Schindler showcases this small, yet abundant red berry in simple perfection with intense close ups. These images are so focused and clear, anyone will be able to tell the difference between a Morello and a Bigarreau.
“Sweet Cherries I” and “Sweet Cherries II” by Nicole Etienne, along with “Abstract Fruits III” by Chariklia Zarris also portray the fruit close up, however rather than with a camera, they capture it in framed cherry paintings. Other artists have captured cherries in paintings but a cheeky illustration comes in “Cherry Martini” by Cathy Lamb, which features a martini glass full of cherries, and the artist hasn’t forgotten the all important cocktail umbrellas in her piece either.
But with a luscious red colour, artist has not stopped at traditional pieces. There are contemporary pieces such as framed cherry pop art like “Cherry Delight” by Jill Meyer. Then there are other artists like Stephanie Marrott who creates charming pieces that showcase the plump red fruits reminiscent of the mid twentieth century, complete with red gingham backgrounds.
