Framed Purse Artwork
Purses used to serve strictly a practical purpose and helped both men and women to carry coins around. It took a while for them to become fashion items, but today this is the first thing that comes to mind and also the message conveyed by the framed purse prints at FramedArt.com.
Coins are rarely used and the very idea of carrying a large quantity sounds ridiculous, yet the size of purses seems to be constantly on the rise and the posters prove this.
Modern Europeans changed the looks and purpose of the purse, with the most radical transformations occurring in the early 19th century. Some of the framed purse prints highlight the elegance and charm of these early accessories, but the vast majority focuses on the contemporary items. Todd Williams is one of the artists with a passion for purses and his commitment paid off, as there are several art prints titled Exotic Purse and Classy Purse to choose from.
What most framed purse prints have in common is that the handbags are of generous proportions and it looks like ladies could carry a small fortune inside. Interesting enough, the idea of large purses came to H. J. Cave more than a century ago and he even produced some items, before giving up, convinced by the critics that ladies won’t find any pleasure in wearing them. History proved them wrong and Emily Adams is one of the artists who celebrate the beauty of purses of more generous proportions.
