Framed Canal Artwork
Canal is an artificial watery surface, made by man and used for different types of transport over water or transport of water. The oldest irrigation canals were found to date from 4000 B.C. and were located in the area of ancient Mesopotamia.
Egyptians built canals in 2200 B.C. for the purpose of defeating unpassable parts of Nile River. Modern canals were mostly constructed in 18th century for the purpose of industrial development.
The beauty of canals can be seen in many representations of Venetian streets filled with water and gondolas. With practical value, there is also an aesthetic view of the canals, because they represent a pretty part of cities on water. If you want to feel the emotion of waters flowing through ages and carrying positive emotions of life in these water-built cities, framed canal art posters are the right thing for your home.
Canals can be divided in two categories and those are: Waterways – watery surfaces used for transport and Aqueducts – special canals used for sending drinking water over long distance for needs of different settlements. Today, canals are used for transport of bulk cargo, as water transport is one of the less expensive means of transportation. The history of canals is long and people always knew how to utilize the power of altered water flow. Also, for a person that likes to travel and to meet the culture of different cities and countries, the sight of canals in many cities is a view that most often leaves tourists impressed and with a memory that they have seen something great.
