Lobster Prints and Wall Art
Many people don’t know a great deal about lobsters except for the fact that they are a delicacy in many cuisines, but these creatures are truly fascinating.
Some of the largest maritime crustaceans, they spend most of the time at the bottom of the sea, finding shelter in crevices. They also can burrow themselves into the seabed, and this is how they often appear in the many lobster prints and framed lobster art available at FramedArt.com.
The holes they dig on the seafloor serve as more than a refuge against predators and the lobster also uses them for ambushing prey. They’re pretty successful at what they’re doing, and under normal circumstances, they would thrive in different environments. Unfortunately, the fact that they are prized seafood resulted in overfishing and the commercial importance of lobsters can also be their downfall. Some framed lobster art highlights their culinary value, of course. In many countries, however, the animals are protected to avoid an excessive harvest.
While they don’t have any reliable defense systems against humans and fishing, lobsters rely on their hard exoskeleton. The only moment when they are truly vulnerable is when they molt, a time when they expose themselves to predators. Unfortunately, there is no alternative to this process, because they need to relinquish their old exoskeleton to grow further. Lobster wall art captures the fully fledged animal, as well as the younger lobsters, including the ones actively engaged in the molting process.
