horse wall art
The most elegant of all domesticated animals, the horse has been one of the mankind’s most helpful animals for communities small and large. Centuries ago, horses were praised for their strength and resilience but also their beauty, a quality that is cherished here at FramedArt.com through our extensive collection of framed horse prints.
Humans have relied upon horses for almost 6000 years and while they are still of great help out in the country, advancements in technology have literally put them out to pasture as a means of transportation.
Many pieces of framed horse wall art depict the beautiful animal roaming freely on seemingly endless pastures or running through canyons. Many of the images celebrating the beauty of wild horses are impressive but can be misleading as the feral populations are not exactly wild horses. Many of these magnificent creatures were actually domesticated and released back into the wild, where they have returned to their ancestral nature and virtually severed the link connecting them to humans.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are the framed horse prints which depict the dynamic duo of the horse and the rider. Some of these images portray cowboys trying to manage large herds of cattle, while others pay homage to soldiers riding their horses into battle. Albrecht Durer had his own take on horses and those who are in the market for classic horse art masterpieces will surely appreciate his drawing named the Knight, the Death, and the Devil. An equally beautiful drawing belongs to Leonardo da Vinci and goes by the name of Study of Horse and Rider, crafted more than half a millennium ago.
