Framed Hawk Artwork
Hawks represent a huge group of birds which includes more than 270 species. Hawks are divided into two groups and these groups are distinguished by habitats and appearance.
They are found everywhere around the world, except Antarctica.
Hawks usually have sharp talons, muscular legs and curved beak. Their color ranges from grey to brown. These soaring birds can reach length of 22 inches and usually, the female is larger than the male.
Hawks are characterized to be one of the most intelligent and the strongest birds. While hunting, some hawks can fly as fast as 150 miles per hour. Beside their enormous speed, hawks have excellent eyesight which makes them great hunters in different situations. They hunt almost everything that is available for their diet, from insects, to rabbits or rats.
Hawks are nesting in the trees. The nest once made represents a home until it is broken or until the time comes for migration. These birds usually lay one or two eggs and they take care of their nestlings by the time they are fully grown. Instead of being dangerous, hawks are gentle among themselves, especially with their baby birds and mating partners. In order to find a mating partner, male performs spectacular stuns in the air. This performance can last more than 10 minutes and is very impressive to watch.
In history, hawks have represented guardians of the God of the Sun. In some tribes, feathers of hawks are considered to be sacred and are used as a part of Indian chief feather hat. If you want to have the energy that this powerful bird brings with its presence, getting a framed hawk art is the right choice of decoration for your living space.
