Dragonfly Art

A dragonfly is a slightly large insect with four wings, two large eyes, and one long, colorful body that reminds us of a dragon. They are predatory, eating other insects and can fly at fast speeds. They are also very beautiful, having bright markings on their bodies, iridescent wings, and a very interesting body shape, which makes them the subject of many artists' paintings for framed dragonfly art pieces.

James Burghardt's framed pop art of a dragonfly “Popfly1” is an interesting use of a detailed dragonfly shape using simple colours. The painting is very animated, with two dragonflies at different angles flying, their different distances indicated by the use of white, and a black dragonfly is seen from an overhead view. The black dragonfly is made to look closer to the viewer because it uses a dark colour.
