Tom Reeves (born 1967) is a California-based artist who was born and raised up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though his parents wanted him to be a lawyer, his love of art could not allow him to study law. He had always had a deep love of art, be it fine art, interior design, anything that has artistic flare to it. Inspired by his love of texture and color, Reeves tries to paint what he would put in her own home. However, he did not begin painting for others until after college and after the birth of his first child. It was his wife who encouraged him to follow his dreams.
He believes there’s so much beauty around us if we could only stop and look. He is keen to detail and will always pick what many people can easily ignore. Most of his works are through observation of what is going on around him. He mainly paints using acrylic paints, and for his reproduction work and for perfecting and cleaning up his work, he uses digital methods.
Reeves believes that by appreciating the little things around him he can learn a lot from nature. He loves creating art that is not just meant for hanging on the wall but that which can also inspire. His style is contemporary and his touch is in the abstract. He uses his art to invoke a feeling in his viewers; that’s why framed Tom Reeves art is very popular with leading collectors. Reeves, his wife and three children, make their home Riverside, California.
