Born in Japan, Makiko studied Design at Nagoya Girl’s University. Her work was appreciated by both fellow students and teachers. Makiko is talented in a wide variety of artistic techniques and subjects. In her childhood, she spent a lot of time painting and drawing in books and on walls, papers and floors. She knew that she would be an artist and worked hard to achieve her dream. After graduating, she worked as a freelance designer for several textile printing companies. She recently studied Illustration and Graphic Design and is now based in Belgium. The training she got from the university helped to reinforce her talent and honed her skills. Many collectors are fascinated by her art which are client-oriented and are often free of simple artistic restraints and with unique colors and style. For more than 20 years now, she has been working as freelance illustrator for Children’s publishing and Greeting Cards. Following her education, she has displayed her artwork in several locations in Japan and even beyond. Her compositions are harmonious and pure, and her subjects are carefully selected. As she loves animals and nature, most of her illustrations are animals. Her inspiration comes from the innocent movement of children and animals. And for her animals are a good way of conveying an emotion and message. Makiko uses a human approach to produce her art to make them more appealing. She even goes into the small details of the subjects to make them more attractive and more realistic as possible. Framed Makiko art are much sought after by many collectors because they come ready to hang.
