Earth Tone Prints
Many people consider earth tones to be dull and boring but, artists have thrown that idea out and brought out beautiful pieces in earth tones. They find it is easy to create framed earth tone art that many people will enjoy. The colors are soft and make everything soft on the eyes. Art done with earth tones is never assaulting to the eyes.
Photographer Donna Geissler uses the actual earth to create her framed earth tone pictures. She has found that even the simplest things like how shells lie in the water can be art. Mary Ann June and Pam Britton use earth tones to create fun pictures that have a bit of the old in them like, “Bath House” and “Powder Room”. These kind of pieces often look great in the rooms they portray depending on the color scheme of the room.
For art lovers that have a taste for the old west artists like James Earle Fraser and Tom Ryan are a great choice. The use earth tones to create framed earth tone paintings like “End of the Trail” and “Sharing an Apple.” “The Declaration of Independence” by John Trumbull is a wonderful piece of history that was captured on canvas in earth tones.
Kids are cute and using them as models for art is often a great idea and gets a good response. Artists like Laurie Cooper and Mary Cassett have both found this to be quite true. Laurie Cooper got a hit with her painting “He’s Mine” and Mary Cassett made a mark with her painting “The Bath.”
