Framed Pressed Flower Art
Everyone remembers being in school and how excited they got when it was time to start on your wildflower collection. Artists have found a way to capture that memory through framed pressed flower art. Some of them have such a realistic style that it seems as if the flowers are fresh from the wax paper and a book.
Carol Robinson is one of the best framed pressed flower works when looking for the most realistic look. Her pieces titled “Pressed Petals” in a series have very natural looking flowers. Shams Rasheed is another artist that stays with the natural look in this category.
Vision Studio takes a scientific approach to their framed art pictures by giving the look of a part of a science project. The pictures have a single pressed flower with an information card as if it were being turned in during science class. These would make a great part of the décor of a science teacher’s classroom. Jennifer Goldberger uses the colors of green and gold with simple lighter colored sketches of pressed flowers; these pieces are very appealing to the eye.
Another type of work done by Jennifer Goldberger are single flower stems that appear to still be between the pages of the book. The backgrounds consist of a tan with the print of the story in the book; she dubbed these “Romantic Pressed Flowers” and there are three in the series. Patricia Pinto is an artist that loves dealing in the subject matter of plant life and has stepped in the pressed flower category with her painting “Pressed Flowers I”.
