Framed Basset Hound Artwork
Centuries ago, the Basset Hound gained notoriety for hunting hare and rabbits and were bred for this purpose. Famous for their outstanding sense of smell, they were the obvious choice for tracking small prey, while their counterparts the bloodhounds were useful for deer hunting. Nowadays, these funny looking animals are great companions and an excellent choice for families with small children, due to their friendly temperament. FramedArt.com celebrates the dog breed and provides their owners with the finest Framed Basset Hound Art.
Framed Basset Hound Art depicts short yet solid animals, with curved tales and an unmistakable face that for some odd reason seems to be always sad or contemplative. An adult Basset Hound can weigh as much as 80 lb, and they are among the longest of any breeds of dogs. Among the distinctive features, it is worth mentioning the fact that they’ve got a neck that is wider than the head and loose skin that creates flat collars resulting in facial wrinkles.
Basset hounds are not particularly agile, but despite their seemingly small stature, they are quite flexible and can get to things that seem to be out of their reach. Their morphology makes it hard for them to swim over long distances and that’s why they don’t enjoy spending too much time in the water. Framed Basset Hound Art highlights the fact that this breed of dogs comes in different colors, with the vast majority of them having two or three colors.
