Maximilien Luce (Born 1858) was born into a poor. He loved art from his childhood and he knew that art would be his career. He became a draftsman, a lithographer and painter. Luce died in 1941 leaving behind a legacy of high quality works of art that has become the admiration of many people, both artists and non-artists alike. Today his art can be seen in several galleries, museums, institution and homes around the world. His art is highly priced by many discerning collectors because they can be used to decorate all spaces and are also inspiring. Many stores avail them as framed Maximilien Luce art. The artwork is also available on many online stores. Luce was first influenced by Impressionism before he got inspired by the Divisionist style of Seurat Georges. Later on he adopted a Pointillist approach to painting, as can be seen on a piece of art which he did in 1895. Though he was much known for the landscapes he depicted, he also frequently covered political topics as his subject matter, empathizing and identifying with the proletariat. Luce lived in Montmartre until 1904. The streets of Montmartre appeared in many of his works, and from 1904 to 1924, he lived in Auteuil, and then decided to move back to Paris. On his travels through Brittany, Normandy, and the Etampes he painted numerous landscapes in addition to wharfs, factories, and street scenes. During the World War I, he painted war scenes and portraits of homecoming and wounded soldiers.
